What is an ESCO (Energy Service Company)?
An ESCO designs, finances, installs and maintains measures that reduce a client's energy consumption, and is paid from the savings those measures deliver. Icopower ESCO has worked this way in Kenya and Seychelles since 2013.
Do we need capital to start an energy efficiency project?
Not necessarily. Projects can be bought outright, leased, or delivered under an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC), where Icopower funds the measures and is repaid from the verified savings, so there is no upfront capital for the client.
How are energy savings measured?
Savings are measured and verified to the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP), led by a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), and reported monthly on our EnMIS platform.
Which countries do you work in?
We have offices in Nairobi, Kenya and Mahé, Seychelles, and serve clients across East Africa and the Indian Ocean.
Are you licensed by EPRA?
Yes. Icopower holds EPRA licences as an Electrical Contractor Class A-1 (all electrical works, including 220 kV and above), an Energy Audit Firm Category A, a Solar PV Contractor V1 and a Solar PV Importer V2, C1.
